Meet Hershey! Hershey is a baby bear in a puppy body. He's soft, quiet, a little unsure of the world, and absolutely adorable. He’s not your typical wild-and-crazy puppy… at least not yet. Right now, Hershey prefers the finer things in life: long naps, cozy spots, and chewing on his collection of very important treasures (antlers, hooves, and toys). He’s gentle, affectionate, and loves being near his people, but he’s also perfectly content resting on his own. Hershey is a polite little guy who doesn’t jump, doesn’t bark, and sleeps beautifully through the night in his pen. He’s working on house training and is already doing great with overnight routines. The outside world is still a little bit scary and confusing for him (winter did not come with an instruction manual), so walks are a work in progress. Sometimes he freezes, sometimes he insists on being carried, and sometimes he just turns around and proudly races back toward the warm house. He’s opinionated and not afraid to use it. Hershey is also in the teething phase and currently armed with extremely sharp “shark teeth,” so a home with older children or adults who understand puppy mouthing would be best. He gets along well with other dogs and would likely love a playful canine friend in his forever home.
