Taking her name from the Cree work for feather or more specifically duck feather, Mekwan, is a striking white beauty that is as composed as a duck. Mekwan made her way to Alberta from Manitoba to find her forever. Like many white cats with blue eyes (in her case bi-chromic), she is 100% deaf. She absolutely cannot hear any sounds. When you come into a room, it is your vibrations that wake her up and alert her you are present. For this reason she would do best in a home that can understand her needs and the rigor needed for NEVER having her get outside. As a deaf cat Mekwan cannot hear her own meows! This makes for some loud conversations. The conversations are brief and involve her telling you she is there and wants to snuggle, have pets and honestly just be loved. Her white fur is very dense and definitely needs frequent brushing to keep the floof contained. Mekwan would love the chance to meet you and tell you about her day.
